I have finished this book and found it over indulgent and not really all that interesting. I felt she missed the boat on many occassions. I know little about the author but this read like a clumsy first book to me. I could have done without the sex stuff, it added nothing and seemed creepy. I did not love any of the characters but felt like I really wanted to. It left me unsatisfied and not in a good way. (**)

The Other Paris

200706040203261086_2  I really have to comment on this whole Paris in Prison thing. It is on television and the radio every 5 seconds so there is no escaping it really. I guess this all bothers me so much because my daughter is around the age of all these girls that are getting in so much trouble.

Criminals walk every day because they have good lawyers and it just seems unfair that Paris is being hamstrung by a judge who is determined to make an example of her. I think in this case she is being treated unfairly, it has just gotten ridiculous especially since she could have been out in two weeks. She has probably had yeast infections that lasted longer.

I do firmly believe that Paris is a victim of her people. I believe that her people are scared to make her mad and they tell her what they think she wants to hear. I believe her people told her to go ahead and drive because they believed they could buy her out of any trouble she might get in. I also believe her people persuaded her to go on and go to jail because they already had an agreement with the sheriff and knew they would have her out in a couple of days.

I don't think she has the emotional tools to deal with something like this and I believe that people like her and Britney and Michael Jackson that have grown up in a vacuum have no idea what reality is, even when they become adults and live in the real world. They really don't even then as they still have "people" to shield them from things they probably don't even know exists. However I do think that once they realize their life is not "normal" they have a responsibility to figure out what is.

Anway, I think her sentence was fair but I think for the judge to haul her back in after she had been sent home by the sheriff was absurd. It happens every day in jails all over the country and the sheriff does have that authority normally. If she were a regular person she would have been let out after a couple of days -if that- due to overcrowding.

Wasn't this her third time? I've heard of people getting far harsher treatment than her in this case...they even knocked her time down to half.

And they let her our for emotional distress? That's what prison is supposed to do to you. Make you emotionally distressed. Driving on the road high/drunk kills people...in my opinion, she should be getting a lot more than 45 days. Or would they rather wait until someone is killed?

I agree that any person who is convicted of this crime should have a harsher sentence, I think she should have been made to serve the entire 45 days in jail but I think everyone who is convicted of a like crime should serve their entire sentence.
I am not saying she should be let out because of emotional distress, I am saying she should not be kept in because she is who she is, the average person would have been released after a couple of days.
I am not a Paris fan at all, but this does not seem to be fair based on the way normal criminals are treated. I think in this case she is being treated worse because of who she is.

Hi Jules,
I can see your concern, if you have a daughter Paris' age (26 years old). I really think Paris is "old enough" to know better.. NOT to drive drunk in the FIRST place.. If her people missed informed her. she should fire them for lying to her.. because she is facing the consequence of it, then.. I believe that she knew.. and that NO ONE should drive on a suspended license because that is the law... and what's more, she is wealthy enough to hire a driver.. Most people don't have that!!! As for Nicole, Lilo and Britney... WOW.. what can I say.. Hollywood is going to the DAWGS.. Where the HECK are their parents??? Oh la la!!! Go check out TMZ.com or Danasdirt.com if you like to follow the dirt like me.. I am from LA... but I have NEVER once in my life.. driven under the influence of anything.. and here we have a handful of rich kids risking everyone's lives and their own.. I have friends who have died because of drunk drivers!!!

Oh yes, I do love Celebrity Gossip! I check out TMZ every day but I have not been to the other site. I really can't imagine what sort of a parent raised these girls.
