I am barely into this and savoring each page.

    Elizabeth Gilbert: Eat, Pray, Love
I have finished this book and found it over indulgent and not really all that interesting. I felt she missed the boat on many occassions. I know little about the author but this read like a clumsy first book to me. I could have done without the sex stuff, it added nothing and seemed creepy. I did not love any of the characters but felt like I really wanted to. It left me unsatisfied and not in a good way. (**)

Weight Watchers

7 March 08 Friday

2 more pounds for a total of 14! This put me at a personal goal that was pretty important to me. I have to talk about a product I have found that has really seemed to make a difference. Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal. I am not sure what is so special about it, my group leader said it is all the fiber it has but since I have been using it for breakfast I have really seen a difference. I do have to admit that I had a setback, two weeks ago I went completely off and gained back like 10 pounds. It was a tricky time of the month so I have to blame it on that because I took it all off in a week plus 2 more pounds.

It almost feels like I did it on purpose, I was so close to this really big goal and I know that I sabotage myself on purpose subconsciously. I have had enough therapy to know that! I think I am over that hump though and ready to move forward again. I went down a size in jeans and can button my brown leather jacket. I wore it the first time I went to WW and it would not come close to buttoning over a t-shirt. I put it on today and it buttoned over a sweater.

5.4 more pounds for a total of 12! This really is not that hard, haven't had any real difficulties or setbacks. I counted every point and made good choices all week. I think I can do this.

9 Feb 08 Saturday

I just had my Week 2 Weigh in, I have lost 6.6 pounds which is pretty good considering I did not track my points last week. I do feel that I made pretty good choices overall so I am not going to worry about it plus I did lose 1.8 pounds. I am trying to go for 2.2 so I lose a kilo a week, that sounds like such a lot!

I learned a little lesson last week. I had a birthday dinner at On the Border and thought I would plan out my choice before I went. I knew I could have 2 chicken fajitas with guacamole and shredded lettuce and stay within my points range so I did. Unfortunately we also brought home an uneaten chicken quesadilla which I had for lunch the next day without checking the points. 35! Yikes! That threw off the rest of my week so I was sort of bummed about that.

I did have to change the day my week starts on to Sunday because a Saturday morning weigh in is better for me. I liked the group leader we had today as well so I am pretty happy with that choice.
